SCB, in association with Payette Associates, is the architect of record for a new 315,000 sf College of Medicine and Research Building at The University of Illinois at Chicago. The Design Team programmed the new facility to have interactive teaching labs, an animal testing facility and a flexible BL-3 laboratory. To insure interaction between teachers and students, the faculty offices are located in direct proximity to their specific labs. Lounges and conference rooms are interspersed throughout each floor to encourage communication and learning.
