SCB Director of Planning, Christine Carlyle, joined industry experts presenting at this year's Rail-Volution in Boston. Ms. Carlyle was part of a three person panel discussing Design Guidelines for Livable Communities.
Moderated by Steve Dotterrer, Principal Planner for the City of Portland, Oregon, the panel examined how good design allows transit agencies and communities to increase transit ridership, raise communities' economic potential and improve quality of life within the context of modern energy and environmental challenges.
Rail-Volution is an annual national conference that began in 1989 as an effort to promote effective development of the Portland metropolitan region's MAX Light Rail System.
