Legacy Wins NAHB Gold Award

October, 2011

The Legacy at Millennium Park is a National Association of Home Builders 2011 Gold Award winner for High-rise Multifamily Housing (over 6 stories). The 72-story residential tower in Chicago’s downtown loop district was announced as the NAHB Best in American Living Award winner at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Florida.

The Legacy is one of the tallest buildings in the United States. The tower’s innovative design provides 356 luxury units and sustainable sky parks while sensitively respecting the existing urban fabric of the city’s smaller-scaled land-marked buildings.

As a BALA winner, SCB is recognized for residential design excellence in this annual competition among architects, builders, developers, planners, and interior designers. Projects of a range of size and scale are evaluated for best use of site plan, exterior design, interior architecture, construction quality, cost efficiency, and sales success. A Platinum, Gold, and Silver winner is chosen from each of nine national regions, with three national awards given, as well.
