The Mather South wins DFAR Award

August, 2012

The Mather South has won a Citation Award in this year’s American Institute of Architects Design For Aging Review. Hosted by the AIA, in partnership with Leading Age (formerly AAHSA), the DFAR is an annual event that highlights emerging trends in the design of environments for the aging.

The Mather South is the second phase of a two-phase continuing care retirement community designed by SCB. The CCRC in Evanston, Illinois, offers memory support and long-term care suites, assisted living suites, and independent living residences.

Winning projects chosen by the DFAR jury will be published in the Design for Aging Review, 11th Edition, and will be featured in a traveling exhibit to visit several locations nationwide in 2011-2012.
