SCB Principal Wins 2011 Parthenon Award
SCB Principal Jim Curtin, AIA, has won the prestigious ACUHO-I 2011 Parthenon Award recognizing his “continued contributions to the collegiate housing profession.” Mr. Curtin and seven other individuals were honored at the ACUHO-I Annual Conference and Exposition in New Orleans earlier this month.
The Parthenon Award is the highest profile award given each year by the Association of College & University Housing Officers – International. The award recognizes “supreme achievement…outstanding service, leadership, and contributions to the field of student housing.” Candidates for the award have contributed no less than 10 years of service to the study of student housing/ residential life, and five years of service to the regional or international ACUHO-I organization.
Jim Curtin has served as an ACUHO-I board member. He is also a founding member of the ACUHO-I 21st Century Project, a multi-phased initiative to design optimal student residences that reflect their importance to the college and university experience. As head of SCB’s student life portfolio, Mr. Curtin has designed over 33,140 beds for campus residences nationwide.
