David Schlensker is an Associate Principal with SCB, where he is a senior project manager for multiple large-scale projects across the country. David has acted as team leader for projects ranging from high-rise residential buildings to office towers to retail developments, student housing, and urban planning projects. As a primary contact for owners and developers, David uses his more than 25 years of professional experience (the past ten with SCB) to guide his clients through the complexities of the design, permit, bidding, and construction processes.
In the position of senior project manager, David takes an active role in all phases of design and construction. He is responsible for coordinating the design and technical efforts of the architecture team and their consultants, working with contractors, city officials, and other stake holders, and ensuring that the client’s needs and vision are at the center of the combined work effort. He has managed many award-winning projects, including the LEED platinum WMS world headquarters building, the 50-story AMLI River North luxury apartment tower, the 43-story Summit on Lake tower, and the 545 N McClurg and 1001 S State residential towers.
David is a member of the Board of Directors for the Chicago Lakefront region of the American Youth Soccer Organization (currently over 3,400 players), where he has helped organize volunteers, run tournaments, actively work with the city to build and expand soccer fields in Chicago, and coach many of his daughters’ soccer teams. He is also active in his church leadership and has been a longtime member of the AIA.
