Kristy is an Associate Principal at SCB and has 19 years of experience working in the architectural profession. As a Project Manager with 20 years of professional experience, she is well-versed in managing projects in a range of sectors and building types, including senior living, public sector work, schools, residential, and student life. As an SCB studio head, Kristy is responsible for all aspects of technical oversight, management, client, and staff communication on a wide variety of projects, overseeing the business and contractual relationship between the client and the project team. Kristy also supervises the collaborative work that takes place between SCB staff and the Principal-in-Charge during all stages of a project. She organizes the work efforts of the project team, and works to keep the project on schedule and on budget by monitoring these efforts continually throughout the project.
Over the past five years, Kristy has led SCB’s efforts working with the Chicago Housing Authority and Chicago Public Schools. Additionally, she has extensive renovation and adaptive reuse experience, and possesses a deep understanding of the different kinds of challenges posed by renovation projects as opposed to new construction. Her renovation experience played a crucial role in SCB’s renovation of the Manzanita Hall student residence at Arizona State University, which recently won the SCUP/AIA CAE Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture for Restoration or Preservation. Kristy graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Architecture and is a member of the AIA.
