SCB is proud to have received four awards at this year’s PCBC Gold Nugget Awards held in San Francisco. Now in its 59th year, the annual awards program is the oldest in the nation, recognizing top innovators in design, planning and development. The 2022 panel of industry experts judged over 600 entries to select the best projects of the year.

Channel House received Grand Awards in two categories, Multifamily Housing Community of the Year and Best Multifamily Housing Community over 100 du/acre. Channel House is the newest addition to Jack London Square, an industrial-turned-business/residential/ entertainment destination along Oakland’s waterfront. With architecture and interiors by SCB, the 326-unit residential development anchors the eastern edge of the district, with a signature ground floor retail space drawing visitors along the main pedestrian promenade.

Dundee Residence Hall at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) received a Grand Award for Best Student Housing Community. As the first of several large-scale projects adding residential capacity and transforming the campus experience at UCR, the 820-bed Dundee Residence Hall features a shared outdoor courtyard that serves as the “living room” of the community, offering a variety of recreational, social, and contemplative spaces amidst a landscape of native plantings. The project is LEED Gold.

The Mather Tysons was the recipient of a Merit Award for Best Senior Housing Community on the Boards. The phased project is targeting LEED Gold and will result in a new 748,000 square-foot, two-tower senior living community located in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Phase One consists of a 186-independent living unit residential tower, with Phase Two closely following with an additional 114 independent living units.
