UCR North District Phase One Named “Best New Development by a College, University, or Institution”

University of California, Riverside (UCR) North District Phase One was named “Best New Development by a College, University, or Institution” at this year’s Student Housing Business Innovator Awards. More than 200 industry experts acted as judges to decide on the entries best demonstrating excellence in student housing.

The LEED Gold, all electric living/learning community combines passive sustainable design strategies with innovative building systems. Home to 1,500 students, the project marks the start to the development of the North District, which, when complete, will add a total of 6,000 beds to the campus.

Congratulations to the University of California, Riverside and our long-time partner and client, American Campus Communities, plus the rest of the project team, including Benchmark Contractors, Inc. (a subsidiary of Morley Builders), DCI Engineers, KPFF Consulting Engineers, Creative Resource Associates (housing interiors), Interface Engineering, and Walker Macy for their work on this transformational project.
