How did you end up at SCB?
I came to SCB after working at smaller firms for many years because I wanted to work in a large studio. Coming to SCB was eye-opening because of the sheer quantity of talent and mentors available to discuss project work with.
How long have you been at SCB?
Nearly four years.
What initially attracted you to study design or pursue a career in design?
When I was in high school, I took drafting classes every semester… I loved being able to plan and craft something out of thin air. Then when I got my first internship in college, seeing those ideas come to life on the jobsite was so much more fulfilling than I ever expected.
What projects are you currently working on?
Currently, I’m working on a wide variety of projects from a corporate headquarters for HUB Group to a student housing facility for Loyola. One of the most exciting is a new Chicago North facility for ComEd.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Thankfully, there is no such thing as a typical day in this industry. One day I’m working on finish palettes or furniture packages, next day I’m brainstorming concept design with my team, and the day after I’m at a client meeting developing their programming study. Every day is very unique and challenging.
