How did you end up at SCB?
During my internship at SCB I worked on a 38-story residential tower. This was the first large project I worked on, and its complexity of unit design and details was a fun challenge. After graduation I was excited to return.
How long have you been at SCB?
What projects are you currently working on?
An office building in Chicago’s West Loop.
What is the best thing about working at SCB?
The opportunity to work on different project types, from multi-family housing, to higher education, interiors, and office buildings. Also, SCB has a great group of people!
What does a typical day look like for you?
My day starts with a bike ride to work, only in the warmer months of course. At the office I’m developing details, coordinating with consultants, or producing design studies. Each day is different, and I’m always collaborating with my team. Occasionally I round out the day with an industry event, intramural game, or figure drawing session.
What advice can you give to young or future designers and planners?
Only you are in charge of your career. Work hard, ask questions, speak up, and get involved in the design community.
