How did you end up at SCB?

I moved to Chicago after taking a short detour in Indianapolis. I was interested in residential high rises and thought SCB would be a great fit given their expertise.

What initially attracted you to study design or pursue a career in design?

Originally, I had no idea what I wanted to study. I knew I liked art and wanted something analytical. The further I got into architecture, the more I knew it was exactly what I was looking for and very much something I wanted to do every day. It’s great to find a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to design and the built environment.

What is the best thing about working at SCB?

The range of projects – building types, location, scale, design…the list goes on. Learning about what other teams and studios are working on is one of my favorite parts about our office. It’s really great to watch (and learn).  There is always the opportunity to push your career path in any given direction.

What is the best professional advice you have ever received?

Respond, don’t react. And ask all the questions.
