SCB’s San Francisco office has that distinctive California vibe. Chill, hip, and a little bit funky, our growing San Francisco family includes Chicago transplants, West Coast natives, and everyone in between.
Fog City. SF. The City by the Bay. The Paris of the West.
The cultural, commercial, and financial hub of Northern California, San Francisco boasts an eclectic mix of architecture and important national landmarks and is known for being a locus of progressive social movements and technological innovation.
When you work at SCB SF, you’ll join us in our downtown office in the heart of the financial district, where the hustle and bustle of the city is infectious. You’ll have easy access to the Ferry Terminal Building, which hosts farmers markets, restaurants, and shops featuring local goods. And in a city known for its walkability, you can easily head into the neighborhoods, where you’ll have front-row seats to SCB’s impact on the city. As for the broader Bay Area, there are exciting opportunities in emerging neighborhoods, East Bay, and on the Peninsula. The region is booming, and SCB is at the forefront of its development.
For an office that’s even younger than some Silicon Valley tech engineers, SCB SF is prolific, making major contributions to the city’s skyline and neighborhoods since its start in 2007. SCB’s One Rincon Hill, whose soaring height was made possible by pioneering structural solutions for building in areas of high seismic activity, was the first residential tower built after the city raised building height restrictions. Since then, our work in the residential market has helped bring thousands of apartments online, with thousands more in the pipeline.
Our work at some of the state’s largest educational institutions helped pioneer new, innovative approaches to design and ushered in new delivery methods. Today, SCB San Francisco is hard at work in Oakland, continuing to help meet the demand for housing with projects like 1721 Webster and 500 Kirkham, and designing a fresh crop of office towers to support the region’s creative and tech-based industries.
There is never a dull moment in San Francisco. SCB SF offers a range of amenities and flexible work hours in a comfortable and collaborative atmosphere. The office also hosts a wide variety of events, clubs, and meetups that offer lots of opportunities to build community and get to know your fellow designers. From sandcastle building contests to coffee club to bi-weekly design pinups, there’s a way for everyone to get involved and have some fun.
Join us at SCB SF. We love it here. We think you will too.
