Ben Harrison is a Senior Project Architect and Associate Principal in SCB’s Boston office with 10+ years of experience in the design and documentation of projects across a range of scales and programs. As part of the firm’s national Campus Environments practice group, Ben has brought his technical expertise to institutional clients across the county, merging forward thinking design with practical construction solutions.

Ben originally joined SCB as part of the firm’s Chicago office, subsequently relocating to Boston to help open the firm’s east coast office in 2021. Since then, he has assisted in growing the office from a staff of 5 to 35 and has helped bolster the firm’s expansion into the region’s life sciences sector. Ben is a leader in the firm’s Campus Environments Research + Development Committee, oversees the Boston office’s mentorship program, and serves as the secretary of the SCB Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Ben’s recent work includes the LEED Gold Academic and Residential Complex (ARC), an award-winning academic and residential community at the University of Illinois at Chicago; and the North Campus Development at the University of Michigan, a 1200-bed mixed-use living/learning district. He is currently engaged in several life science projects in the greater Boston area, including Hartwell Labs, a 300,000 square-foot multi-tenant office and lab building in Lexington, MA.  His multifamily residential work includes 449 Cambridge, a full-block development of affordable housing and artists housing in Boston’s Allston neighborhood and Spring Garden, a new 12-story mixed-use project in the burgeoning Northern Liberties neighborhood in Philadelphia.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Syracuse University. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is a LEED AP BD+C.
