As an Associate Principal and Senior Designer at SCB, Gary Klompmaker provides design leadership for a wide variety of projects including high-rise residential, mixed-use, office, and institutional projects. With a career spanning 30 years, he brings a wealth of experience to each project while developing new ideas and driving the firm into new directions.
Gary’s portfolio of high-rise design has impacted skylines across the country. Recent projects include The Laurel, a 700,000-square-foot, 50-story, mixed-use tower in Philadelphia, PA; Buckhead Village, a 350-unit luxury apartment tower in Atlanta, GA; Post Oak, a 675,000-square-foot, 29-story residential tower in Houston, TX; and Addison and Clark, a 516,000-square-foot mixed-use project that combines 150 residential units and 140,000 square feet of retail near Wrigley Field in Chicago.
Gary is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF). He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan.
