An Associate Principal, and Project Manager at SCB, Jeff Zdenahlik has 24 years of experience at the firm and 37 years in the profession. As a Project Manager, he oversees all phases of a project and serves as the principal contact for the client. He is passionate about meeting and monitoring clients’ programs, project schedule, zoning and code compliance, technical quality, and working to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the established budget and schedule.

Jeff’s experience as a Project Manager includes numerous mixed-used urban developments, high-rise residential, adaptive reuse, hospitality, entertainment, senior housing, laboratory, and commercial office projects. Over the course of his tenure at SCB, Jeff has managed 17 large-scale, high-profile residential tower projects, including the 44-story Hubbard Place and the 48-story Kingsbury Plaza luxury rental buildings in Chicago’s River North community; the 35-story Sinclair mixed-use development in Chicago’s Gold Coast; the 46-story luxury rental tower at 500 Lake Shore Drive in Chicago; the 45-story Murano luxury condominium tower in Philadelphia; and the 38-story luxury rental Marquee at Block 37 tower in Chicago. Recently he managed the completion of the historic Tribune Tower, a 33-story condominium conversion project in Chicago, and is currently managing the historic renovation of the Belden-Stratford, an 18-story luxury apartment project in Chicago. Jeff recently managed the winning team for the Bally’s Chicago Casino and Entertainment Center competition, consisting of 4,000 gaming positions, 500 key 4-star hotel, and 3,000 seat theater. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

Jeff has served as the SCB Chicago office staffing director and is an integral member of the firm’s leadership team. He has led the SCB intern program for 2 decades. His dedication to mentorship and continuing education has made Jeff an invaluable resource and champion for young architects. In addition to his leadership within the firm, he serves as a Trustee of the Chicago Academy of Sciences and Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and earned his Bachelor of Architecture from North Dakota State University.
