Forma, is a 235,000-square-foot, residential high-rise located in Oakland’s burgeoning Arts & Entertainment District. The 28-story tower is composed of 223 upscale rental apartments, an 83-space puzzler parking garage system, and more than 3,000-square-feet of ground floor retail.
Targeting LEED Gold
Residential amenities include a fitness center, event and entertaining spaces, a library-style co-working loft, and two roof decks with views of the Bay and city surroundings. Blending a mix of glass, metal, and natural stone, the design for Forma is reflective of Oakland’s industrial history and legacy as a major shipping port, as well as the city’s rich cultural diversity. Inspired by the materiality of the surrounding art deco context, the tower is visually separated into multiple vertical facades, alternating between glass and metal. A vibrant mosaic mural, created by a local artist, and double-height lobby activates the street corner and enhances the pedestrian experience. The project is targeting LEED Gold for Homes.
